Charter Member

TiE Carolinas Charter Members (CMs) are successful, high-profile entrepreneurs, corporate intrapreneurs and thought leaders, who have reached a stage in their professional life when they are ready, willing and able to contribute to fellow members. CMs are the pillars of the organization and provide critical impetus that allows each Chapter to succeed in its mission to fostering entrepreneurship in its community.

TiE Carolinas’ Charter Membership is offered on a “by-invitation-only” basis in accordance with a due process specified in our Chapter By-Laws that requires two-thirds majority approval of existing CMs. It is restricted to accomplished individuals who demonstrate the ability and willingness to help entrepreneurs in our community.

Charter Members of our chapter are required to pay annual dues of $1,000 which offers the following benefits:

Charter Member Benefits

  • Fees waived for Charter Member and 1 guest for chapter dinner meetings and workshops (valued at more than $50/meeting). TiE Carolinas hosts at least several events per year.
  • Fees waived for Charter Member to attend most TiE Conferences worldwide (valued at more than $500/yr.).
  • Opportunities to participate at special Charter Member networking meetings held in conjunction with each   TiE Conference (usually at no charge).
  • Opportunity to join and network (with family) in TiE’s annual international Charter Member Retreat at resort locations around the globe.
  • Opportunity to participate (with family) in TiE’s regional Charter Member Retreats hosted by one of the ten East Coast Chapters (retreat fee charged separately).
  • Invitation to attend your local Chapter’s exclusive events inviting delegations, entrepreneurship-focused organizations, holiday parties, and entertainment mixers.
  • Opportunity to invest in promising startups via TiE Carolinas Angels program. (Additional fee of $250/yr. is charged for interested CMs who want to become a member of  TiE Carolinas Angels group)
  • Promotion of Charter Member business via our email blast sent to 3,000+ e-mail subscribers.
  • Ability to promote your business and its need in one of our chapter meetings.
  • Opportunity to mentor and provide internship to our TyE (high school student business plan competition) teams.

We have experienced consistent growth in our chapter with an increase in membership, meeting attendance, and corresponding revenues for the past four years.
