We are pleased to inform you that applications are now open to Student Entrepreneurs for the TiE Young Entrepreneur University Program (TYE-U). A global program aimed at fostering our future generation of entrepreneurs. 

TiE Carolinas has launched this, and are looking for partners to support us in this endeavor.

The TYE-U initiative enhances the learning objectives of aspiring student entrepreneurs globally through the creation and presentation of business pitches for new business ventures.

Timelines:

  • February 27, 2020 – Applications Close
  • March 1, 2020 – Top 10 Applications Selected
  • March 10, 2020 – Closed Door Pitch, Top 3 Selected
  • March 11 – 30, 2020 – Access 1-1 Mentoring, Guidance and Coaching from TiE Dubai
  • March 31, 2020 – Closed Door Pitch, Final Winner Selected
  • April 1, 2020 – Winner Applies for Global Pitch to Silicon Valley
  • April 1 – May 5, 2020 – Access 1-1 Mentoring, Guidance and Coaching  from TiE Dubai + Global Mentor from Silicon Valley
  • May 6, 2020 – Pitch to Investors Directly or Via Zoom to TiE Silicon Valley

Judges will consider these key factors while shortlisting winners; 

PROBLEM DEFINITION: Clear Description, Market Identification, Customer Validation

SOLUTION: Value Proposition, Product Market Fit, Differentiation from Competition 

SUCCESS VIABILITY: Operational / Executional Approach, Leadership, Teamwork, Financial Viability/Returns

If you have an idea, product or service that you are looking to launch and  you meet the eligibility criteria apply NOW. The winning team will compete globally for a $10,000/- cash prize.

Applications close on February 27, 2020. Selected applications will be invited via email to pitch. Review Terms & Conditions to confirm eligibility.

Event Logistics:

Where: TiE Global HQ, 3975 Freedom Circle, Suite 230, Santa Clara, CA 95054, USA

When: Wednesday, May 6th, 2020

Time: 7:00AM to 2:00PM PDT (arrive or call in between 6:30-6:45am PDT to check out technology and the venue)

Dress Code: Business casual attire – jacket required (tie optional) for men; dress or dress pants/jacket for women.  Team logo’ed wearables are allowed, preferably with a jacket.  No denim allowed.

Presentation order of the pitches will be randomly chosen by May 1st but may be updated on the day of the event to accommodate virtual and in-person teams.
